Hawaiian Humane Society offers a discount for Pet Adoptions

There are dozens of dogs at the Hawaiian Humane Society who are in need of a good home.

But the organization is making the adoption process a little easier.

The Humane Society kicked off its "Dog Days of Summer" adoption special.

Starting today, anyone who adopts a dog six months and older will receive fifty percent off the adoption fee.

It normally costs $65 dollars to adopt a dog, but after the discount, it comes out to $32.50.

"People surrender their dogs for many different reasons everyday .. recently it's been a lot .. get them into homes," says Starr Dods, Hawaiian Humane Society.

The offer is good through August 25th.

Lindsay Lohan -- Calm and Pretty

As someone inside the jail told us, "She's not a mess at all. She's keeping to herself, better than yesterday and handling it pretty good."

We do not know if sleeping soundly in a noisy jail was Ambien induced.

Our jail source says she looks "stunningly beautiful."

As for what's on Lindsay's mind -- she wants to know when she's getting out.

And, we're told, Lindsay's peeps are trying to get her a copy of "The Old Man and the Sea" by Ernest Hemingway from Barnes & Noble. Lindsay couldn't bring her own copy to jail -- B & N is the Sheriff's choice.

Christian Lacroix’s New Designer Wants to Do a Target or H&M Line

Christian Lacroix's new designer, Sacha Walckhoff, who now helms the label without Lacroix, is trying to pull the company out of debt and modernize it a bit. Lacroix's passion may have been couture, but that won't sustain a label nowadays. Many high-end designers looking to stay current and get a bunch of free mass marketing collaborate with mass retailers like Target. Walckhoff isn't opposed to the idea.

He told the Huffington Post:

Yes why not. Because its [sic] part of what I've been wanting: to get people to touch Lacroix at last. Brands like Target and H&M would be ideal for that. Of course, I won't do a couture dress for a mass retailer, but to do a small collection for one would be lovely. I'm open to it. Lacroix is luxury, but the brand's DNA, as the Spring 2011 collection shows, is about mixing the luxurious and the rough. This creates a large territory to play and craft something everyone could love.

Wesley Snipes' Appeal Denied -- Must Serve 3 Years

Wesley Snipes just got his ass kicked by a federal appeals court -- which denied the actor's claim that his 3 year prison sentence for tax evasion was "unreasonable."

Translation -- dude will definitely serve hard time.

Back in 2008, Snipes was found guilty of not filing tax returns from 1999 to 2001 ... and consequently failing to pay the government nearly $12,000,000.

Snipes was sentenced to 36 months in prison -- but appealed the case claiming, among other things, that his sentence was "unreasonable."

But today, the appeals court backed the original ruling -- shooting down Snipes' claims that his punishment was way too severe.

No word on when Snipes will officially check in to the big house.
